Recreational Therapy
Recreational therapy utilizes a wide range of interventions and techniques to improve the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and leisure needs of their patients. A recreational therapist works with the patient, their family members and others significant to the improvement of their health condition. Recreational therapists assist clients to develop skills, knowledge and behaviors for daily living and community involvement. The goal of recreational therapy is to restore, remediate or rehabilitate in order to improve functioning and independence as well as reduce or eliminate the effects of illness or disability.
