A Seamless Transition...
What can I say? My years at Kettering Health Network have been filled with great joy, countless rewarding experiences, invigorating challenges, proud achievements and so much more! When I think about my time at KHN, I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity and truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful team, organization and community.
And just a few weeks ago, we made a special announcement – it was news that I was very pleased and thankful to share. That news was that Fred Manchur, KHN president and chief operating officer, will be our next president and chief executive officer for Kettering Health Network, starting December 1, 2010. From that date through May 15, 2011, I’ll move into a CEO Emeritus role.
Having personally worked with Fred for 10 years, I can honestly say that he is a competent and caring leader who puts his heart and soul into everything he does. He is committed to the same core values that I have also been committed to since our board of trustees first adopted them when Kettering Health Network was created:
►Trustworthy ►Caring ►Competent ►Collaborative ►Innovative
Fred’s touch has been on so many positive and successful projects that impact each of our Key Result Areas (People, Quality, Growth, Service and Finance). These include the Kettering Medical Center Emergency Department renovation; the expansion of Kettering College of Medical Arts through the Boonshoft Center for Medical Sciences; as well as the Sycamore Medical Center addition and renovation. He is currently intricately involved in the Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center and the West Wing at Grandview Medical Center. Fred is active in our community, serving on the Dayton Art Institute board of directors, Dayton Rotary, Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association and is also serving at the state level in the Ohio Hospital Association.
Along with our board of directors, I am completely confident that Fred is a demonstrated leader, and Kettering Health Network is well positioned during this time of transition. A seamless transition of leadership will take place, supported by an experienced leadership team who has continued, without missing a beat, to pursue our vision of transforming the health care experience for Dayton’s communities.
Blessings to you,

Frank J. Perez, FACHE
